Alan F. Siu

 (CPA/Lawyer)

 

 

Admitted to the Philippine Bar, 2000

 

Atty. Alan F. Siu is a Certified Public Accountant and lawyer with a focus on taxation and corporate law. He graduated cum laude from the University of San Carlos with a degree in Commerce, major in Accounting, and earned his law degree from the University of San Jose–Recoletos. He passed the 1999 Bar Examination—the year with the lowest passing rate on record at 16.0%.

 

He began his legal career as a senior associate at Richard W. Sison and Associates, gaining extensive experience in litigation. Prior to becoming a lawyer, he served as a Revenue Officer in the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Revenue Region 13, and earlier worked at Metrobank’s Loans Department while attending law school.

 

Atty. Siu also taught taxation and commercial law at USJR’s College of Law, and business law subjects at both USJR and the University of San Carlos. He is the founding partner of Siu Migriño Sagarino & Co., CPAs, an accounting firm based in Cebu City.

 

 

 

Johannes Lawrence C. Riñen

 

 

Admitted to the Philippine Bar, 2005

 

Atty. Riñen holds a degree in Commerce-Accounting from the University of San Carlos and a law degree from the University of the Visayas–Gullas Law School. Prior to law practice, he worked in banking, where he gained experience in credit and finance.

 

His legal career began at Escasinas Partners and Company Law Office, where he handled civil, real estate, labor, administrative, and criminal cases. He later co-founded Siu Riñen and Associates with Atty. Alan Siu.

 

Atty. Riñen is also a licensed Real Estate Broker, Appraiser, and Environmental Planner, having ranked 6th and 4th respectively in the national licensure exams. He has served as a director of the IBP Cebu Chapter and was active in the Young Lawyers Association of Cebu (YLAC). He has also taught business law at the University of the Visayas.

 

 

 

Allan T. Latras

 

 

Admitted to the Philippine Bar, 2002

 

Atty. Latras earned his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and English from San Carlos Seminary College, and his law degree from the University of San Carlos. He passed the 2001 Bar Examination with an average of 85.45%, including a 98% score in Remedial Law.

 

He practiced at Richard W. Sison Law Office & Associates from 2002 to 2008, handling a wide range of legal matters, including litigation before courts and administrative agencies. He later co-founded Latras Heyrosa Alcazaren Reussora Law Offices, and in 2022, became a partner at Siu Riñen Latras.

 

He also spent over a decade as a college instructor at Cebu Institute of Technology (CIT-U), prior to full-time legal practice.

 

 

 

Mipps Mardie Semillano

 (CPA/Lawyer)

 

 

Admitted to the Philippine Bar, 2016

 

Atty. Semillano graduated magna cum laude from the University of San Carlos with a degree in Accountancy and ranked 8th in his graduating batch in law. He passed the CPA Board Exam in 2010 with a rating of 91.86%.

 

He worked as a Tax Manager at SGV & Co., handling tax audits, regulatory registrations, corporate restructuring, and incentive applications. He later served as Comptroller at Profood International Corp., overseeing accounting and compliance functions.

 

His areas of practice include taxation, corporate compliance, estate and property transactions, and labor law. He also served as a resource speaker for various tax training programs. Atty. Semillano is the author of the BusinessWorld article “Being a Top Withholding Agent: Boon or Bane?”

 

 

 

Rexis Jun M. Maamo

 

 

Admitted to the Philippine Bar, 2022

 

Atty. Maamo earned both his Juris Doctor and AB in International Studies from the University of San Jose–Recoletos, graduating magna cum laude in the latter. He passed the 2020–2021 Bar Examination with exemplary performance.

 

Before joining the firm, he worked as a Senior Paralegal in a legal process outsourcing firm focused on trademark and intellectual property matters. He also worked as a freelance trademark paralegal with foreign law firms.

 

His interests include data privacy law, freedom of speech, and intellectual property, on which he has authored articles published on the firm’s LinkedIn page. He brings valuable experience in IP and regulatory matters, informed by his work in both local and global legal settings.
